Fixed and Removable Braces and Aligners to Correct Misaligned Teeth
By age 12, a child's jaw and teeth are typically strong and developed enough to begin targeted orthodontic correction. At this stage, simple behavioral changes (such as diet and changing habits) are usually no longer sufficient to correct misaligned teeth. Orthodontic auxiliary instruments and appliances such as braces with so-called brackets, become essential for achieving proper alignment. Whether the issue is crowding, gaps, or bite correction (for example an overbite), the treatment focuses on achieving healthy and harmonious tooth positioning. Effective treatment solutions can include conventional metal braces, self-ligating brackets, aesthetic braces/aligners or MARPE.

Conventional Braces
Fixed traditional metal braces efficiently align crooked or overcrowded teeth. The metal brackets are the most efficient way to treat severely misaligned teeth. The timeframe of the treatment is individual, and depends on the extent of your misalignment. During the course of the treatment, the metal wires put pressure on the teeth and bring them together or back in the desired position.
- Clear aligners (e.g Invisalign®): Removable transparent aligners for teeth straightening.
- Ceramic brackets: Tooth-colored braces for a less noticeable appearance.
- Lingual brackets (e.g 3M® Incognito™): Braces placed on the inside of the teeth for complete discretion.
- Sapphire brackets: Durable, transparent braces offering a nearly invisible look.

Self-ligating Brackets (eg. Damon Brackets)
Self-ligating braces are fixed orthodontic appliances to correct dental misalignments without the need for elastic ties. Instead, metal doors are used to hold the wire.
